Area Description

Lorne Park is bordered by Port Credit and Mineola along the Credit River to the east, the QEW to the north, Clarkson Rd N in the West and Lake Ontario to the South.

Lorne Park is one of the most exclusive and affluent neighbourhoods in Mississauga.  Lorne Park was named John Campbell, 9th Duke of Argyll, better known as the Governor General of Canada, Marquess de Lorne (1878 – 1883).  This neighbourhood started out as a resort and recreation area during the 1880’s.    These luxury homes are surrounded by mature trees on large private lots on winding tree lined streets with wide sidewalks.  There are a variety of homes which include bungalows, side splits and two storey homes many of which have been custom built or have undergone extensive renovations.  The last largest scale development in Lorne Park was in 2001 by Watercolours.  The Watercolours development was created to blend into the natural surroundings.   The Lorne Park Watercolour Resident’s Association was founded in 2005 to protect and promote the interests of their residents.  The area also has a school and park located within this community and there are 2 streets to enter and exit.   Lorne Park is an upscale family oriented community.  The area is a mixture of long time residents, business owners, professionals and families.

Lorne Park is minutes to parks, Rattray Marsh, Jack Darling park, golf courses and walking trails.  Mississauga Golf Course is just north of Lorne Park and one of the highest regarded courses in Toronto.  Easy commute to Toronto via the Clarkson and Port Credit Go and the QEW.  Clarkson Village and Port Credit are a short walk away where you can enjoy many award winning restaurants and superb shopping.

Lorne Park Estates is an exclusive 77 acre community located south of Lakeshore Road between Jack Darling Memorial Park and Richard’s Memorial Park.  Lorne Park Estates has some of the most expensive lots and homes in Mississauga.  The Lorne Park Estate Association (LPEA) is responsible for municipal taxes, the maintenance and insurance for the area, which includes, roads, forests and walking trails.    Any custom home needs to have permission from the LPEA.  There are only 2 roads that enter the area that are marked private and are strictly for the use of the residents and their guests.

Lorne Park Secondary School is in one of the top 5% of schools in Ontario.
